Our First University Screening Takes Place at OSU in OKC. I THINK WE HAVE A HIT!

FEBRUARY 2015

We showed CHILDREN OF THE CIVIL RIGHTS to students at OSU in Oklahoma City. Check out what one teacher overhead a OSU student say after seeing the film ...

“With this film it puts everything that I have heard about the civil rights into perspective, I get it now!"

Even the president of the university Natalie Shirley stopped by to check it out. It was a warm welcome indeed.

Special thank to Dr. Steven Collins for organizing the screening event.

"Showing a film such as the ‘Children of the Civil Rights’ was necessary to personalize the movement for our students,” Dr. Collins said. “They usually read government and history books, and those events seem so far removed from their everyday lives. This film covers events that took place a few miles away from their homes and schools. When you personalize tragedy and triumph, people take a greater interest in the movement. Dr. Baker and I wanted our students to gain a sense of pride and purpose.”

"We need to understand where we have been and that’s why this film is so important to me. We are sharing information with younger generations."
