I travel with sit-inner Ayanna Najuma to St. Augustine, Florida. We are attending the National Council for History Education conference where we will be both exhibitors and presentors. We get to present in one of the prettiest rooms I've ever seen. The hotel is right by the beach so I take a quick walk down there only to have two trucks pull up with confederate flags flying, a bit surreal for me. I thought, "We're not in Kansas anymore."
While in Florida, we meet Joe Marx who helps us out tremendously, including rescueing Ayanna who is dropped off at the wrong hotel.
